While there are many forums based on Software Questions, very few can be found on Hardware and so, being an Electronics Engineer myself, I felt there are many people who might need a site just like this.

Gordon Moore, one of the founders of Intel Corporation proposed 'Moore's Law', which stated that the number of transistors that could be fitted on a chip would double every 18 - 24 months. This growth continued from the mid 1960s through the 1970s and 1980s and by 1990, the capacity of RAM memory chips had increased to 1 Megabit. A 1 Mbit memory chip requires at least 1,048,576 transistors on a single chip. This is known as Very Large Scale Integration or VLSI. |
